Local hero Mat Rebeaud wins ahead of Jim McNeil and Andre Villa! Round 7 of the NIGHT of the JUMPs / IFMXF FIM World Championship blasted through Bern at his premier in Switzerland tonight. The very tide conditions of the track meant that riders would need 100% concentration to stay in the hunt. Early favourite Remi Bizouard (Fra) decided not to start this day, cause of the track difficulties.
So nine FMX-Riders out of 8 countries started in the qualification. Brian Foster (USA) and Massimo Bianconcini (ITA) had their problems with the track and couldn’t make it into the final. German Fabian Bauersachs, who had some problems in the trainings, took a really good run in the qualification. He ended up 7th and missed the final very tied.

Libor Podmol doing a Backflip. He placed 6th in the Final

Next to Libor Podmol (CZE) and Kris Brock (GBR) all of the Backflips kings made it into the final.
First in the final was Libor Podmol (Cze), who crashed at his double-up and ended up on 6th. Kris Brock (GBR) reached 5th and Swedish Fredrik Johansson 4th.
Third with an impressive ride was Andre Villa (Swe), who switched to a Suzuki bike after 20 years on Yamaha. With his Heelclicker Backflip in the doube-up he was close to 2nd Jim McNeil. But McNeils Superman Seatgrab Backflip in his double-up safed him second place.

Jim McNeil showed again an impressive run and placed 2nd
First in the final with a bag of massive backflip combinations was Local Hero Mat Rebeaud, who had a hard crash in the training, while trying a spectacular new Backflip combination. But nothing could stop him driving his “home” contest. With his won Rebeaud still leads the IFMXF FIM World Championship with 92 points ahead of Andre Villa.

Mat Rebaud doing a CatNac Indian. He won at his home event in Bern
The Whip contest was won by the team of Mat Rebeaud (SUI) and Remi Bizouard (FRA), ahead of Brian Foster and Kris Brock. Remi Bizouard did the most spectacular Whip ever and is ready to beat US-Whip-Boy Ronnie Renner next time.
The Highest-Air-Contest had to be broke up, cause the landing hill was in danger of damage.
The 8th round of the World Championship takes place in Bern on saturday evening.

Swiss Mat Rebeaud wins by Nac Underflip ahead of strong Norwegian Andre Villa! Round 8 of the NIGHT of the JUMPs / IFMXF FIM World Championship in Bern. On the second day in Bern the riders could deal much better with the tide conditions of the track. 7.500 visitors came and celebrated the FMX-Pro’s. French Remi Bizouard, who took a breakout on Friday, decided to start Saturday.
So 10 FMX-Riders out of 9 countries fighted for important points of the IFMXF FIM World Championships. Brian Foster (USA) did much better than on Friday but missed the final. Again Massimo Bianconcini (ITA) had problems with the track and couldn’t make it into the final. German Fabian Bauersachs, who did a good run on Friday and missed the final just with a few points, reached not his good runs of the last contests and ended up at 10th.
Six backflipper made it into the final: Czech Libor Podmol, Remi Bizouard (FRA), Jim McNeil (USA), Fredrik Johansson (SWE), Andre Villa (NOR) and Local Hero Mat Rebeaud.
First in the final was Libor Podmol (CZE), who did a 1-Handed Backflip to 1-Hand-Landing in the double up and ended up at Fifth. Remi Bizoaurd (FRA) did massive tricks like 1-Handed Backflip or Rock Solid Holygrab. But he had a Deadsailor and crashed after landing his Scorpion Tsunami. This meant position 6.
Swedish Fredrik Johansson with Underflip, Stripper to Saran Wrap or 1-Handed 360 reached 4th.
US-Boy Jim McNeil did again his Supeman Seatgrab Backflip in the Double-Up, but this day it brought him only on third position, cause Andre Villa was to strong. Heeclicker Backflip, Backflip to Sidesattle Landing, 1-Handed Seatgrab Lookback or No-Handed Backflip. Villa was ready to beat Mat Rebeaud.

Mat Rebeaud 1st and 3rd Andre Villa from Norway
Mat had to take the fight and show his best tricks. The 7.500 people pushed him to the limit. No-Handed Backflip, 1-Handed Take-Of Hartattack Indian Air, 1-Hand-Seatgrab Indian Air, 9-O-Clock Indian Air, Tsunami, No-Footed Backflip, 1-Handed Backflip to 1-Hand Landing and the first ever Contest-shown Nac Underflip as Double-Up safed him his victory. But only 6 points lead to Villa expressed the tide situation.
With his second won at the weekend Mat Rebeaud now leads the IFMXF FIM World Championship with 10 points ahead of Andre Villa.
The Whip contest was won by French Remi Bizouard ahead of Kris Brock. The Highest-Air-Contest had to fail, cause the nature ramp could take it.
